Lafitte trip 6-24-13

Today's trip to Lafitte didn't produce like I thought it would. [smiley=banghead2.gif] Since I experienced motor problems (which seems like a simple fuel pump problem), I stayed around the Texaco canals instead of running around from spot to spot like I wanted.

Few reds and a sheeps head. This is one of the throw backs that my brother in law caught, which happened to be his first red fish. He's down visiting from Illinois.

Seems a little slow everywhere. I wonder if all this climate change thing has anything to do with it. It's hot as hell now and if you get out you better get your fishing done early and get in. Better luck next time.

After the family thats in town visiting heads back home I'm going to see why I'm having problems getting fuel, thinking fuel pump since I already replaced fuel lines, then it's time to go for some bass. [fisherman_fishing.gif]

If your fuel lines were deteriorated it is good chance your fuel pump and any filter in line on the motor is full of particles from the lines. It's not hard to clean if you have any mechanical ability at all. You can google a "how to" for help. That's what is great about the computer tech of today. Also may try seafoam treatment in your next tank to clean your fuel system.

Thanks for the tip.

The lines were kinda bad off. All filters have since been replaced so that only leaves the fuel pump. I rebuilt the pump a few years ago so I guess anything is possible. If I continuiosly prime the ball I don't have a problem. That's what makes me think something with the pump but trash or a small leak somewhere in the system is still not out of the question.

Hopefully I'll have a simple solution to post back about when I get around to playing with it. For now, it's plenty of beer drinking with the family and boiling some seafood.
