We hit the Louisiana Cypress Canal this evening. Been a while since I fished that area. Water was pretty but they just wouldn't bite.We fished all artificial today. We did have a few misses on mini-jigs.

They say the reds are starting to heat up in Lafitte. Think that will be my next stop next time I am off.
May the fleas of a thousand camels infest the hind end of poachers and may their arms be too short to scratch!!

I hope so. I was in search of that elusive little fish that you always catch, the tasty ole Sac-a-Lait. They aught to turn on by next month back there.

I took my lil girl fri but the water was pumping in . We did catch 5 and would have caught more if it wasn't for the water being so high and coming in like it was . We had one right at 14inches , didn't get any pics but of my baby girl .

Awesome pic hehe. Fishing with kids can be challenging, but always ends  up being rewarding.

As for the reds in Lafitte, they should be there and biting. I know a guy that limits out there all the time. He lives on the base in Belle Chasse. He throws corks/shrimp and claims to be on the water at 6, and limited out and back to the base by 9. Haven't fished with him, but have seen the pictures of a few of his trips. I don't know exactly where he is fishing down there.
