From LDWF:

New regulations requiring permits for the night-time take of outlaw quadrupeds, nutria and beaver on private property have gone into effect, the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) announced Thursday (Oct. 20).

The Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Commission adopted a notice of intent for the regulations with amendments during its June meeting. To view the regulations, please visit http://www.wlf.louisiana.gov/action-items.

The permit will be valid for a period of one year from July 1-June 30 the following year, however, they may only be used from Sept. 1 of each year through the final day of February of the next year. Permits may be renewed annually without additional application.

Permittees may take outlaw quadrupeds, nutria or beaver during nighttime hours on private property from one-half hour after official sunset until one-half hour before official sunrise.

The proposed changes are designed to streamline the application process and alleviate concerns relative to depredation and property damage by outlaw quadrupeds, nutria and beaver.

Time of day:

Got out on the water yesterday. The weather was perfect. Since I got out there early in the day, I decided to run to the camps and visited with a few friends. Sorry Marreromad, since you weren't at your camp, you weren't graced with my presence.  [smiley=rofl]

Starred fishing around 3:30. First stop was the Tarpaper Canal area. No luck. Left there and headed for my old stomping grounds, the old Westwego Dump canals. 4 bass on a buzz bait. I switched to a small beetle spin late in the evening. Quite a few hits but I'm pretty sure it was perch nibbling on the tail.

Might go again today. I got the itch. If I go back, I'm gonna bring some night crawlers and concentrate on perch.

Not enough quality in the fish for pics. They were a little pitiful looking.

We've had many inquiries about our 16 beautiful new cabins and greatly appreciate the interest! They are still in the final stages of construction, but we are hoping to have them open by April 2016. Keep checking our official Facebook page at www.facebook.com/BayouSegnette for updates and be sure to tell your friends. Just as a reminder, we do NOT take advance reservations via email, Facebook, or at the park. When the cabins have been completed and are available for rental, you will be able to make reservations by calling Reserve America at 1-877-226-7652 or by visiting their website at www.reserveamerica.com.
The staff at Bayou Segnette State Park looks forward to your visit!

Agreed. Then when a storm floods them they will want more flood protection.which means more habit lost, Killing our own food supply.

This is a stupid idea. It's all swamp land. Building there will do nothing but destroy habitat and cause headaches for residents down the road when their property starts sinking. Just look to parts of Kenner that were built on the same type of land many years ago. STUPID IDEA!!!! [smiley=tazsmiley] [smiley=tazsmiley] [smiley=wtf.gif]

Not a bad haul.

As for the pics, what size are they? Send them and I'll add them. They may be too big. Does the site give an error message?
