Title: Fishing captain Theophile Bourgeois killed in plane crash
Post by: WestwegoMan on Aug 19, 2019, 8:30 AM
Sad news to report from yesterday.

Most of you may already know but for those that don’t, popular local fisherman and charter captain Theophile Bourgeois was killed in a plane crash.

The plane crashed in the Chandeleur Sound, Sunday around 3 pm.

Coast Guard rescue crews responded to the crash and recovered all three people via helicopter after locating the wreckage.

Theophile was a frequent guest on Outdoors with Don Dubuc.

"He is going to be really missed. He was a great guy. A lot of talent in a lot of ways, a lot of people didn't realize how much talent and how much good business sense he had and how much he had to come back to recover from storms. It was always a long road back. This one -- it doesn't look like he is going to make it back," Dubuc said.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends as they go through this tough time. They along with our local fishing community have lost a legend.
