Gentlemen, (the term is used in its' loosest
form) and Ladies
The Thirteenth Annual Perch Jerkin' Rodeo has
been scheduled for Monday May 2, 2011 to
Sunday May 8, 2011. Normally the Rules and
Regulations for this very Prestigious Event would accompany this
announcement. But alas, I have misplaced them on my computer. So, as of now
the old Rules and Regulations will be used for this year. If I find the
Rules & Regulations I will send them along in another Communiqué from Perch
Harvest Central Control.
As usual The camp will be open the prior weekend
for scouting new places and checking the old standbys. This year for those
of you who have lived in isolation, the National Park has used our tax money
to close the majority of the old canals that we depended upon for fishing in
windy conditions. By the time the harvest rolls around they may all be
closed. So we are going to be forced to run over to the Gulf Canal Area or
the Westwego oil field canals for sheltered fishing.
Another difference is this year I will not
publish a Menu as we never follow it anyway. But fear not, we will not go
hungry. The freezer is well stocked with the usual favorites that I have
prepared over the last few weeks. I also have a commitment from Ms. Jennifer
Deffner to cook up her Specialty dish....Jennifer's
Above The Mason-Dixon Line Jersey Girl's Meatloaf..... I am quite
sure other participants will bring their own usual specialties for all to
enjoy.
